The swamp area of Čreta between the towns of Rače, Pragersko and Polskava has been dried recently and an artificial lake, which is now used as a water reservoir and a bird reserve, was created in the process. The new lake brought numerous animal species, especially birds, to the  area. For some, this is a breeding and wintering ground, while others use it as a stopover point during migration. More precisely, 155 species of birds have been spotted here, of which some rare and protected.
